Connecting Families & Schools

Meals that Matter nourishes families and strengthens connections between home and school by providing healthy, ready-to-serve meals for families to pick up from school.

Our Story

Founded by three lifelong friends who grew up on Charleston’s West Side, this initiative is rooted in a deep appreciation for the community that helped shape them. Today, as professionals and parents of children in Charleston’s public schools, they are committed to creating opportunities for West Side families to feel supported, connected, and valued. By partnering with local schools to provide family meals, the program strengthens relationships between families and educators while reinforcing the sense of community pride and support that has long defined the neighborhood.

Creating a stronger community, one meal at a time.
